A commitment graphic made with CommitGraphics
The day

Signing day is the one with the cameras: the table in the gym, the family behind you, the hat or the jersey, the pen. And within the hour, everyone who couldn't be there sees it as a post. The SIGNED graphic is the version of the moment that travels — to the school's fans, your teammates, and every relative group chat.

CommitGraphics makes a dedicated SIGNED headline graphic, not just a commitment post. One action photo plus your name, sport, position, class year, and school produces a finished signing day announcement in your school's real colors — in the December early period, November signing week, or the traditional February date.

It works for every sport and every level, and because previews are free, you can have the graphic generated, chosen, and queued the night before — ready to post the second the paperwork is in. Announcing earlier in the journey? There are offer graphics and sport-specific commitment pages for football, basketball, softball, and baseball.

The Process

Ready before the pen is

01

Your details

Name, sport, position, class year — exactly as they'll be read aloud at the ceremony.

02

Your school

The school you're signing with, plus its state. Real colors and identity load automatically.

03

Your photo

One action shot from the season that got you here. The ceremony photos come later — this is the hero image.

04

Post it signed

Generate the SIGNED graphic the night before, pick the one you like, and post the moment it's official.

Why it lands

Built for the big day

A true SIGNED headline

Not a reused commit template — a dedicated SIGNED graphic that marks the difference between a verbal and the real thing.

Every signing period

December early period, November signing week, February's traditional date, or a spring signing — whenever your day is.

Whole-team ready

The Team / Program Pack covers 50 downloads — one school, every signee, a matching set of graphics for the ceremony post.

Sized for every feed

Instagram post, Story, square, and X in one download — the school page, your page, and the local sports page all covered.

The ceremony lasts an hour. The SIGNED post is pinned forever.

The CommitGraphics difference

When it happens

Signing periods by sport

"National Signing Day" is used loosely, but there is no single date — each sport has its own National Letter of Intent windows, and knowing yours prevents posting a week late.

Football: December and February

Football has an early signing period in December, which is now where the majority of scholarship players actually sign, and a traditional regular period beginning the first Wednesday in February. The February date remains the most visible recruiting day of the year on social media even as the December window has grown. See the football commitment graphics page for more on that calendar.

Basketball: November and April

Basketball signs earlier than football. The early period falls in November of senior year, and the late period opens in April and runs through the spring, catching the players whose recruitment settled late. More detail on the basketball page.

Most other sports: November and April

Baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, wrestling, lacrosse, swimming, and the rest follow the standard NCAA calendar — an early period in November and a late period beginning in April that runs into the summer.

Exact dates shift by a few days each year, so confirm the current window with your coach or compliance office. The periods themselves have been stable for years.

Division III and NAIA sign differently

Division III programs do not use the National Letter of Intent at all — there are no athletic scholarships, so athletes sign a non-binding celebratory form instead. NAIA programs use their own letter of intent on their own timeline. Both absolutely warrant a signing graphic; the ceremony is just as real.

The day itself

Making signing day post well

Have the graphic ready the night before

Signing ceremonies happen in the morning, and the post that goes up within an hour gets dramatically more engagement than the one that appears at 9pm. Build the graphic the night before, have it sitting in your camera roll, and post it while your school's account, your coaches, and your teammates are all actively sharing.

Use an action photo, not the table photo

The photo of you at the signing table with a pen is a genuine keepsake, but it makes a weak graphic — everyone is seated, the lighting is a gym or a library, and every athlete's photo looks identical. Use a real action shot for the graphic and post the table photo alongside it in the carousel.

Tag the program, not just the school

Athletics accounts, not main university accounts, are the ones that reshare. Tag the specific program account and your travel or club team; those reshares are how a signing post reaches recruiting media.

Post the story version too

Feed posts and stories reach different parts of your audience. The app exports a 1080×1920 Story version of the same graphic from the same download, so use both on the day.

Good to know

Questions, answered

How do I make a signing day graphic?

Open CommitGraphics on iPhone, choose the SIGNED graphic, enter your name, sport, position, class year, and school with its state, add one action photo, and tap generate. Two finished signing day graphics come back in about a minute.

What's the difference between a commitment graphic and a signing day graphic?

A commitment graphic announces your verbal decision; the SIGNED graphic marks the day it becomes official on paper. CommitGraphics makes both, plus OFFERS graphics for the journey in between.

Can a school or program make graphics for all of its signees?

Yes. The Team / Program Pack includes 50 clean HD downloads across multiple athletes — enough to give every signee in the class a matching, pro-grade SIGNED graphic.

Can I prepare my signing day post in advance?

Yes. Previews are free and unlimited, so you can generate, compare, and pick your graphic the night before, then download and post the moment the paperwork is in.

Sign it, then post it.

The biggest day of your athletic life deserves more than a phone snapshot. Download CommitGraphics before the ceremony.
